Donuts and ring cakes are easy, soft, and delicious. Among my favorites are the cloud donut and dad’s donut, which accompanied my childhood snacks. The chocolate ring cake is a soft cake that tastes like chocolate, soft, fragrant, and perfect for breakfasts and snacks. For an even more delicious version, you can enrich it with chocolate chips.
Let’s get to work and prepare the chocolate ring cake together.

Steps for preparing the chocolate ring cake
Break the eggs and collect them whole in a bowl. Add the sugar and work with electric whisks. When they are frothy, add the vegetable oil in a stream while still working with the electric whisks.
Combine sifted flour, baking powder, and cocoa. While mixing, add the milk. Finish with salt and rum. Alternatively, you can flavor with citrus zest or vanilla. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
Butter a 9.5 inch diameter ring cake mold. Pour the batter and bake at 350°F, static oven, for about 50 minutes. Let cool, remove from mold, and serve.
Storage
The ring cake keeps two or three days under a glass dome.
