Preparation of Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

  • To prepare our hot chocolate, heat the milk with cinnamon if you only have sticks, or you can prepare it with ground cinnamon. When the milk reaches the boiling point, turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the milk to absorb the cinnamon aroma. Strain the milk.

  • Separately, with a hand whisk, work the starch with cocoa and sugar. Add the milk, ground cinnamon if you haven’t used the sticks, and, always stirring, cook until our chocolate begins to thicken.

  • Whip the fresh liquid cream with an electric whisk. I like it without sugar with the chocolate, but you can add a couple of tablespoons of sugar if you prefer it sweeter.

  • Pour the hot chocolate into 2 cups, garnish with cream, and finish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.

Storage

You can store the chocolate in the fridge for a couple of days and garnish it with cream at the last moment.
