Quick Mousse Crostini Clever Recipe

Hot, so hot, and it seems that the temperatures will be just as scorching for several more days, so you need to resign yourself to spending less time in the kitchen, ha ha! In fact, I don’t really feel like turning on the oven, and today, after opening the fridge, I thought the only thing I could make is some crostini with quick tuna and mascarpone mousse!

I put the bread under the grill for 5 minutes, or even less, and in a little more time, I blended the other ingredients with the mixer to get a very creamy sauce that, if made in abundance, can be kept in the fridge for 2/3 days.

This quick, tasty, and very easy mousse can also be the filling for celery stalks, tomatoes emptied of seeds, and is very versatile for making other appetizers and bruschetta for our SAVORY BUFFET!

Steps

  • 1) For this simple quick mousse crostini recipe, I preferred to toast the sliced bread under the oven grill for a few minutes, but nothing prevents you from not turning on anything and enjoying the savory mousse directly on fresh soft bread.

    2) For the mousse, just put the mascarpone, anchovy, desalted capers (then placed in water for 2/3 minutes), tuna, and washed parsley sprigs in the mixer.

    3) Add the lemon zest and adjust the salt.

    4) After toasting the bread, generously spread the tuna and mascarpone mousse on the crostini and add some pink peppercorns or false pepper before serving at the table.

    5) Simple, fast, and delicious, this appetizer!

    Enjoy your meal!

This tuna mousse and other ingredients is also a great base to spread on toasted golden bread to then enrich the appetizer with, for example, fresh cherry tomatoes in wedges, pieces of sun-dried tomatoes in oil, a leftover of quickly sautéed vegetables … In short, the sauce is creamy, easily spreadable, and very tasty, so I’ll leave you to your vast imagination!
