CHRISTMAS PUFF PASTRY AND CHOCOLATE STARS

The Christmas puff pastry stars are simple and delicious treats, crunchy and creamy. I don’t know about you, but I am already in the Christmas spirit. I love preparing and experimenting with new recipes to propose on Christmas Day, like the Christmas orange cake that everyone always loves for its simplicity. Every year, I always prepare the famous Christmas cookies with my legendary Unbreakable Shortcrust Pastry, but this time, I wanted to try the double puff pastry filled with delicious chocolate and then decorated.

To make these delightful puff pastry stars, I used ready-made puff pastry to simplify my work, but if you want, you can make it yourself or try the quick fake puff pastry, which I find fantastic and very fast to make.

But let’s go back to the Christmas cookies. You need to get a star-shaped cutter or one you like better; there are many available, and I’ll leave the link to the ones I bought myself below. Then cut out the cookies from the puff pastry sheets, fill them, and decorate them. It seems like a complicated task, but I assure you they are very simple, and you will surely impress. Gather everything you need and try these delights; I’m sure they will win you over immediately. But let’s see together what we need and how to prepare the puff pastry and chocolate Christmas stars.

Ingredients

A simple, quick, and delicious Christmas recipe: puff pastry and chocolate stars, also baked in an air fryer.

  • 2 rolls rectangular puff pastry
  • 1 bar milk chocolate with hazelnuts
  • chopped hazelnuts
  • some hazelnuts for decoration
  • powdered sugar

Tools

HERE’S WHAT I USED TO MAKE CHRISTMAS COOKIES

  • Cookie Cutters for cookies

Steps

LET’S PREPARE THE CHRISTMAS STARS

  • Open the two sheets of puff pastry, place chocolate cubes on them, well spaced, cover everything with the second sheet of puff pastry, and use the star-shaped cutter to cut out many cookies. Seal all the edges of the stars well with a fork so they won’t open during cooking. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 356°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes, or you can bake them, as I did, in an air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 10/12 minutes.

  • Once cooked, let them cool. Melt the remaining chocolate in a double boiler and, with the help of a fork, drizzle chocolate lines on each star, sprinkle immediately with chopped hazelnuts, decorate with half a hazelnut, and finally sprinkle with powdered sugar.
