Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 7 oz butter
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 pinches fine salt
  • 1 vial vanilla flavoring
  • 2 g orange zest (grated)
  • 1 jar Nutella®

Steps

  • Use the mixer to crumb the all-purpose flour with the butter. Pour everything into a bowl, add the almond flour, sifted powdered sugar, the egg, and the yolk.

  • Add salt, vanilla flavoring, grated orange zest, and mix all the ingredients. Pour onto the pastry board and finish kneading. Quickly form a dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • Flour the pastry board and roll out the shortbread dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch with a rolling pin. Use the larger cutter to shape 23 hearts to leave whole. Another 23 need to be shaped for the frame using the smaller cutter. Place the hearts on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake. Bake in the middle of the oven for 12-15 minutes. Once cooled, fill them with Nutella.
