  • 3.5 oz breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 pinches salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 red Tropea onion

Tools

  • 1 Meat Grinder
  • 1 Pastry Cutter

Preparation of Breaded and Fried Burgers

  • To prepare the breaded and fried burgers, first, if you don’t have a meat grinder or a food processor with blades, ask your butcher to grind the meat for you.

You can use chicken breast, but also the thigh or drumstick, which are more flavorful.

  • If you have a food processor, insert the turkey meat cut into large pieces.

  • Cut the cabbage (green is also fine) along with the Tropea onion and add them to the meat.

The cabbage adds an extra crunch to the burgers.

  • Add the tomato paste, egg, salt, and pepper, and blend until everything is well chopped and combined.

  • Form the Turkey Burgers using a pastry cutter if you have one, or take a large handful of the mixture, work it between your hands as if it were a large meatball.

Flatten it between your hands to about 0.4 inches in height, then roll it in the breadcrumbs arranged on a deep plate.

  • Now all you have to do is heat plenty of oil for frying and, using a spatula, immerse the Turkey Burgers in the hot oil.

  • Let them brown on one side, then flip them using a spatula, let them drain on absorbent paper before serving the breaded and fried burgers with lemon slices and mayonnaise.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Can I bake the burgers?

Of course, just bread them, drizzle oil on a baking sheet or parchment paper, drizzle more on top, and bake at 355°F for 15 minutes.

  • Can I skip the cabbage?

My advice is to include it, but if you don’t like it, you can use 1 red Tropea onion or other crunchy vegetables, not potatoes or carrots.
