Steps for Pasta with Cream and Sausage
First, we put water in a pot on the stove, and once it reaches a boil, we salt it and add the pasta. In a pan, we heat a drizzle of oil with a clove of garlic. Remove the casing from the sausages and crumble the inside meat with a knife or with your hands. Then put it in the pan to brown well. Once browned, remove the garlic and turn off the heat.
Once the pasta is cooked and perfectly al dente, drain it and add it to the pan with the sausage. Mix with a wooden spoon and add the cooking cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Our pasta with cream and sausage is ready and can be served immediately.
FAQ (Questions and Answers)
Can I make a lactose-free or sausage-free variant?
Sure! For a lactose-free version, just use plant-based cream or lactose-free cream, which are now easily available in any supermarket. If you want to avoid sausage, you can replace it with sautéed mushrooms, cooked lentils, or a mix of sautéed vegetables (such as zucchini and bell peppers), keeping the same procedure. The result will still be creamy and flavorful, perfect for those following a lighter or vegetarian diet.
How can I make the recipe even more flavorful?
You can add a pinch of nutmeg or deglaze the sausage with a splash of white wine while browning it: it will give the dish a deeper aroma in just seconds. Even a dab of sweet mustard in the cream can be surprising! In any case, I prefer not to add salt.
Can I keep the pasta with cream and sausage for the next day?
Yes, it keeps well in the fridge for 1-2 days in an airtight container. When reheating, add a tablespoon of milk or cream to restore creaminess to the sauce and heat it over low heat or in the microwave. It’s better to avoid freezing: the cream tends to separate.
