If you are a fan of rolls and spirals, I suggest you try the Swiss roll recipe. Swiss roll is a type of sponge cake, but I prefer it because it is decidedly softer and easier to roll. Unlike sponge cake, Swiss roll has yeast and oil, making it very soft. Fill it with jam, marmalade, Nutella, ricotta, and fresh fruit. Prepare it in advance, one night in the fridge, once filled, it will make the slices even more precise and perfect. Let’s get to work and see the Swiss roll recipe together.

  • Separately, beat the yolks and the whole egg with the remaining sugar. Add the oil and milk. Mix in the sifted flour with the baking powder, add the vanilla and salt, and work until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Gently fold in the egg whites, mixing from bottom to top.

  • Pour into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a static oven at 356°F for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and place on a clean cloth, roll up and let cool. Once cool, unroll, fill with your preferred filling, roll up again, and serve in slices.
