Quick and Soft Apple Fritters in an Air Fryer
How to achieve a comfort food in just minutes? These quick and light apple fritters, cooked in an air fryer, without deep frying, are just like fried ones, but light and healthy, they will win you over at the first bite.
Ideal for Carnival, but delicious anytime, all year round.
These apple fritters in an air fryer are really soft and light, I couldn’t believe it was possible, but just look at the photos to see that it’s possible to still get soft and very fluffy apple donuts without them being greasy and soaked in oil.
The advantages of cooking in an air fryer are numerous: no need to preheat the oven, cooking is more quick, economical, and healthy (requires very little fat) minimal dirty dishes, no smoke or odors.
Please note that the temperature and cooking times are approximately indicative, as much depends on your type of air fryer (mine is a Philips and I am very satisfied) in any case, the recipes on my Blog are all rigorously experimented by me first, so they are more than tested, in any case, I recommend checking the cooking every now and then, to better adapt times and temperature to your fryer.
To cook these apple fritters – without dirtying my air fryer – I used these very handy pans of Air Fryer Parchment Paper, WITHOUT holes, but very thin, so the hot air circulates just fine, I find them ideal for very greasy or dripping foods (like the batter of these fritters). They are disposable, oil and water resistant, non-stick, won’t burn, and can also be used in a regular oven, found on Amazon (see Shopping Tips below).
I often also use this very convenient parchment paper WITH HOLES for air fryer, non-stick, easy to clean, can also be used in a conventional oven, always available on Amazon at a great price (see Shopping Tips below).

Steps for Quick and Soft Apple Fritters in an Air Fryer
Peel the apples, core them, and slice them not too thinly, season with the juice of a lemon to prevent browning.
Then prepare the batter: crack the egg into a bowl and beat with an electric mixer (or by hand), then add the sugar and mix for about 5 minutes, then add the vanilla, cinnamon, flour, salt, and sifted baking powder, alternating with the milk. Mix until you get a rather thick batter.
Let the batter rest covered with plastic wrap in the fridge for about 35 minutes.
Dip the apple slices into the batter, making sure they are well coated with the mixture.
Place in the air fryer basket a parchment paper tray WITHOUT holes (see below “Shopping Tips”, spray a little oil on the bottom of the tray, place the apple slices in a single layer, without overlapping them.
Set the air fryer temperature to 356°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes, flip them after 10 minutes of cooking and space them apart.Once cooked, when they are still warm, brush the apple fritters with whole milk and then immediately roll them in granulated sugar mixed with cinnamon.
These delicious apple fritters are great when freshly made, but you can store them in the refrigerator for about 3 days (and then reheat them again).
Alternatively, once cooked, you can also freeze them in food bags and reheat them in the oven at 392°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes.
The photos show how soft and very fluffy these apple donut rings are, even inside.

I love using the Philips Airfryer XXL, with a large basket, in addition the Rapid Air technology creates optimal circulation of hot air that cooks food evenly above and below and keeps it crispy outside and tender inside. With many cooking functions in one: Frying, baking, grilling, roasting, and reheating.
A healthier way to cook because it separates and captures excess fat (healthy and tasty dishes and up to 90% less fat).
