Ingredients for the No-Cook Stuffed Mozzarella
- 3 buffalo mozzarella (125 grams each)
- 4.2 oz tuna in oil
- 1.1 oz black olives (or Taggiasca)
- 1 slice white bread (toasted in cubes)
- 1 tsp capers
- 6 sun-dried tomatoes in oil (or confit tomatoes)
Preparation of No-Cook Stuffed Mozzarella
First, dry the mozzarella from their preserving liquid. Using a melon baller or a teaspoon, scoop them out without breaking, leaving a half-inch border.
Drain the tuna from its preserving liquid, chop the previously scooped mozzarella together with the sun-dried tomatoes.
Cut the bread into cubes and if fresh, toast it for a few minutes on a griddle, if stale, no toasting is needed.
Mix all the stuffing ingredients, adding capers and chopped olives, and stuff the mozzarellas.
Drizzle with a bit of extra virgin olive oil, garnish with basil leaves, and serve.
Variants
You can use natural tuna instead of in oil.
Taggiasca or baked olives go very well.
If you wish, you can replace the sun-dried tomatoes with grilled vegetables cut into chunks.
