Ingredients to prepare the Carnival sweet blood pudding
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 1/2 oz dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup cornstarch (maizena)
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preparation of Carnival sweet blood pudding
To prepare the blood pudding, first sift together the cocoa with the cornstarch, then in the same bowl add the cinnamon and sugar.
Add the cold milk in a thin stream, stirring with a hand whisk to avoid lumps.
Place the mixture in a saucepan over low heat and stir often to cook and thicken the Carnival sweet blood pudding. It will take about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, finely chop the dark chocolate and add it to the pot when the mixture has thickened, always stirring with the hand whisk.
Finally, off the heat, add the cold butter in pieces and stir to melt it. Then transfer the mixture to a glass container, cover with cling film in contact, and let it reach room temperature.
Place the blood pudding in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving it in cups accompanied by crispy ‘chiacchiere’!!
