These ghost-shaped treats are simple to prepare and perfect for a Halloween party. All you need to do is shape the French meringue and finish the faces with a touch of dark chocolate or a food pen. It’s a beginner-friendly recipe and they are truly amazing. I am very fond of meringue, and I thought of these ghosts to serve as cookies. Steps
Meringue preparation: preheat the oven to 212°F, meanwhile, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form with an electric whisk, adding the granulated sugar little by little and continue to beat for about 10 minutes. Once ready, gently fold in the powdered sugar from top to bottom until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Transfer the mixture to the piping bag with a plain nozzle. Form the ghosts on the baking sheet leaving a little space between them. Bake for about 1.5 hours or until the ghosts are well dried. Let them cool completely, and then decorate with the chocolate chips or the pen to form the faces
Meringue ghosts can be stored in an airtight container for about 2 weeks
