Green Beans with Tomato

Green beans with tomato are a simple and tasty side dish to serve with meat, fish, legumes, or eggs. You can use either fresh or frozen green beans for the recipe. Once the green beans are boiled, they will be sautéed in a pan with a sauce made of garlic, tomato pulp or puree, and for those who like it, a spicy hint from chili pepper.

  • 1 clove garlic (optional)
  • to taste tomato pulp (or tomato puree)

Preparation

To prepare the green beans with tomato…

  • In a pot, heat the water to boil the green beans. Meanwhile, trim and wash the green beans. When the water boils, add the green beans and cook them for 15 minutes.

  • Towards the end of the green bean cooking time, in a pan, sauté a peeled and halved garlic clove (optional).

  • Then add the well-drained green beans to the pan with the garlic, add the tomato pulp or puree, chili pepper (optional), salt, and pepper.

  • Sauté the green beans in the pan for several minutes until the sauce has thickened. Serve hot.
