Puff pastry with pumpkin, gorgonzola, and bacon, a tasty appetizer made with 3 of my favorite ingredients.
Simple and quick to make, delicious, perfect for all occasions. An alternative to the classic appetizer with fish or cold cuts, light and almost dietetic. A fantastic combination of flavors, pumpkin, gorgonzola, and bacon, that will pleasantly surprise you.
Here’s how to give a personal touch to your creations, instead of bacon you can use cooked ham, and instead of gorgonzola, taleggio. I wouldn’t change the pumpkin, it’s the plus ingredient of the pastry.
Pumpkin is a versatile ingredient, perfect for both sweet and savory dishes. For this recipe, use a small pumpkin, it will be easier to cut and will have the right dimensions to fill the puff pastry rectangles

Steps for puff pastry with pumpkin, gorgonzola, and bacon
Let’s start by peeling and slicing the pumpkin
Steam the pumpkin with a few sprigs of rosemary for about 30 minutes
On a baking tray lined with parchment paper, place the puff pastry rectangles, which we will brush with a little oil. Then add the pumpkin and bacon chunks, a sprinkle of pepper. Bake at 356°F for about 15 minutes
After the required time, take out the tray and add the gorgonzola pieces, and put back in the oven for another 10 minutes. Serve hot

You can also cook the pumpkin in the oven instead of steaming, it works just as well
