STRAWBERRY PASTRIES
If you want a quick and easy dessert to prepare, try the PASTRIES with Cream Cheese and STRAWBERRIES. They are super delicious treats ideal to serve for a snack, for tea with friends, at birthday parties, or as a delightful dessert.
To make them, you will need a few simple ingredients: a ready-made puff pastry sheet, strawberries, cream cheese, and sugar.
Simply cut the puff pastry into rectangles and fill them in the center with a mixture of cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract, then place sliced strawberries on top. Brush the edges with egg, sprinkle with granulated or brown sugar for a caramelized effect, and then immediately bake.
In a few minutes, you will have Strawberry and Cream Pastries with a crispy, slightly caramelized base and a sweet and creamy interior.
An easy, quick, fragrant, crispy, and creamy dessert that’s so delicious it will disappear as soon as you place it on the table.
If you prefer, you can replace the cream cheese with classic custard or even chocolate cream.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 4.25 oz cream cheese
- 2 tbsps powdered sugar
- 4 strawberries (large)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract (or vanilla sugar)
- granulated sugar (for garnish)
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tbsps powdered sugar
- 1 tsp water (or lemon juice)
Tools
- Bowl
- Pan
- Baking paper
Steps
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and cut them into thin slices lengthwise. Set aside.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles of the same size. I made 8. Score a border about 0.2 inches from the edge of each rectangle with a knife blade. Spread the cream cheese mixture within the central rectangle, leaving the ‘border’ free.
Place the strawberry slices over the cream cheese, slightly overlapping them. Beat the egg yolk with water and use a brush to moisten the border of each rectangle. Sprinkle only the edges with granulated sugar. Transfer the pastries onto a baking sheet and bake in an oven at 356°F for about 15/20 minutes. Take them out and let them cool slightly before serving.
NOTES
CREAM CHEESE: You can substitute cream cheese with ricotta or use custard instead of the cheese filling.
STRAWBERRIES: You can substitute strawberries with your preferred fruit like blackberries, raspberries, peaches, apples, or pears depending on the season.
SUGAR: To make the strawberry pastries slightly caramelized, you can substitute granulated sugar with brown sugar to sprinkle on the ‘border’ before baking.
You can serve them either warm or at room temperature.
STORAGE
Due to the presence of fresh fruit, I recommend storing the Strawberry and Cream Pastries in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and warming them up slightly in the oven or microwave before consuming.
