Ingredients for Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Useful Tools
- Kitchen Scale
- Jar with airtight seal
- Sifter
Steps to Make Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
Weigh all the ingredients and sift them into a bowl.
Transfer the hot chocolate mix into the jar where you will store it. The dose is for 4 people, but you could also package the mix in single-portion jars!
HOW TO USE THE HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE MIX: for a liquid chocolate, pour a portion into a cup (about 0.88 oz of mix), heat (for 1 portion) 4.6 oz of water or milk, pour into the cup, stir, wait 2 minutes, and enjoy! If you want a nice thick chocolate, put the 4.6 oz of liquids and the powder together, stir, and place on low heat, always stirring, for 30 seconds! Enjoy!
Tips
As an aroma, I used cinnamon, but if you don’t like it, you can use vanilla or orange (always powdered aromas).
You can package the portions individually.
You can serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
I recommend closing the jar with a red ribbon and a nice card (maybe homemade as well!) if you’re giving it as a Christmas gift!
FOR SUGAR-FREE HOT CHOCOLATE: replace the sugar with an equal amount of erythritol or with 0.53 oz of stevia!
