Tuna and Cherry Tomato Salad, a Tasty and Colorful Summer Dish

Really delicious, fresh, and colorful, the tuna and cherry tomato salad is a great summer recipe. I also propose it as a main dish, to be accompanied by nice slices of toasted bread or croutons. This is, in fact, a simple yet very hearty and nutritious recipe.

To prepare this delight, you need to use good tuna (either natural or in oil but drained), yellow and red cherry tomatoes, a nice sprinkle of oregano, lots of fresh basil leaves, and celery to add crunchiness to the dish. Everything is seasoned with a little extra virgin olive oil. All genuine, fresh, and seasonal ingredients, what more could you want!

Ingredients for Tuna and Cherry Tomato Salad

  • 5.3 oz tuna
  • 1.8 oz yellow cherry tomatoes
  • 1.8 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 0.7 oz basil
  • 3 pinches oregano
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Tuna and Cherry Tomato Salad

  • Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes well. Then, cut them into wedges and place them in a bowl. Season with salt, oregano, basil, and two tablespoons of oil. Let them marinate.

  • Drain the tuna (if using tuna in oil) and break it into chunks with a fork. Then add it to the cherry tomatoes and mix well.

  • Finish the salad with sliced celery.

  • When serving, add a drizzle of olive oil.

Storage

The tuna salad can be stored in the fridge, in an airtight container, for 2 days.
