Fruit jellies are soft and delicious fruit candies covered with granulated sugar.
Everyone loves them, especially children, and you can find them in all sorts of types and flavors in stores, but they are usually full of artificial colors and preservatives.
Making them at home is much easier than you might think and jellies have a completely different taste!
Homemade fruit jellies are made with just a few simple, genuine ingredients and real fruit juice: only fruit, sugar, and gelatin for an irresistible result!
Moreover, it is a super quick recipe to make, you just have to be patient while they set, and with only 3 ingredients they are ready in 15 minutes.
Today I used Concord grapes because my sister gave me a bunch, but starting from the base recipe, you can decide the flavor based on the fruit you like most or have available.
Whether it’s fresh blueberry, strawberry, orange, or raspberry juice, or even a mix like lemon and orange or fruit and vegetables (if you have a juicer), they will be delicious in any case.
Soft and delicious, kids won’t be able to resist homemade fruit jellies, and you’ll have to hide them to avoid them disappearing quickly.

Ingredients
- 0.42 cups fruit juice (fresh)
- 5.5 tbsp granulated sugar (+ extra for coating the jellies)
- 0.28 oz gelatin sheets (4 sheets)
Tools
- Pot
- Blender
- Baking pan
- Mold for jellies
Steps
To prepare homemade jellies, you need to obtain 0.42 cups of fresh fruit juice. So first, wash the fruit, and then depending on the fruit used, if it’s berries or strawberries, without skin or seeds, you can simply blend the fruit. If, like in my case, you choose grapes, it will be necessary to blend the grapes and then pass them through a sieve.
Once you have the juice, put it in a pot with the sugar and bring it to a boil. Meanwhile, dissolve the gelatin in a little warm water. When it softens, squeeze it well and add it to the fruit juice and sugar mixture, and turn off the heat. Stir until the gelatin is fully absorbed.
Line a rectangular baking pan with high edges (or if you have them, you can use fruit jelly molds) with parchment paper. Pour the mixture inside and let it cool completely. Then place it in the refrigerator to set for at least 3 hours. Once the mixture has solidified, remove it from the mold, cut it into cubes, and roll it in granulated sugar. Your homemade fruit jellies are ready!

NOTES
FRUIT You can use the juice from your preferred fruit or even smoothies, the important thing is to keep the proportions between fruit juice, sugar, and gelatin constant, otherwise, they won’t set.
GELATIN SHEETS You can substitute gelatin sheets with 0.14 oz of agar agar
STORAGE
Homemade fruit jellies can be stored at room temperature for up to a week. As I already mentioned, I recommend rolling them in granulated sugar just before consuming. If due to seasonal reasons the temperature at home is too high, it’s better to store them in the refrigerator on the lower shelf.
