Ingredients for making butter cookies with easy recipe
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 7/8 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for decoration)
Preparation of butter cookies with easy recipe
In a bowl (if working by hand) or in the stand mixer bowl, add flour, powdered sugar, and cold butter in pieces, and start working until you get a compact mixture. Now add the egg and the yolk and continue mixing until well incorporated.
If the dough seems too soft, add a little bit of flour; it’s important for the butter to be very cold and for the mixture not to overheat! Once you have a soft, non-sticky dough, transfer it to the work surface, compact it well into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rest in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Once the dough has rested, roll it out between two sheets of parchment paper to a thickness of about 1/4 inch, then cut out the cookies with a cookie cutter or mold, spacing them well apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake our butter cookies with easy recipe in a static oven at 356°F for about 12 minutes, being careful not to let them darken! Once out of the oven, let the butter cookies rest, and when completely cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy their full goodness!
