Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups Sugar
  • 2/3 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup sunflower oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 Grated lemon peel
  • to taste Powdered sugar

Steps

1. Separate the yolks from the whites and beat the whites until stiff, then set aside.

2. In the bowl with the yolks, add the sugar and mix with a mixer to incorporate the two ingredients well.

3. Gradually add the flour a little at a time, the oil, the water, the grated lemon peel, and the baking powder.

4. Finally, incorporate the egg whites with the help of a spatula, working from the bottom up.

5. When the batter is creamy and free of lumps, transfer it to a previously buttered and floured ring cake pan.

6. Put in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25 minutes.

7. When the ring cake is ready and cooked, always using a toothpick test, remove from the oven and let cool.

8. Finally, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
