Cherries are very good! One leads to another. At this time of the year, they are never missing in my house. One of the last times we got really many, so I thought of making a jam. It turned out really good, not too sweet and cloying, and with the right consistency! What can I say, super satisfied! Everyone who tasted it complimented me, and my little girls enjoy eating it for breakfast or a snack with bread. So here is the Acasadigery’s cherry jam.

Ingredients
- 2.2 lbs Cherries
- 1 1/4 cups Sugar
- Lemons (half)
- 1 tsp Orange flavor
Preparation
Acasadigery’s cherry jam. Follow the preparation step by step. It’s quite simple, but I warn you that you need a bit of patience. Yes, because the first part of the preparation is a bit tedious. After rinsing the cherries under running water, you need to remove the pits and stems.
Once you have finished with all the cherries, you can season them with sugar, half a lemon, and after mixing everything, the orange flavor. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least a couple of hours. For convenience, I cleaned them on Saturday morning and continued the preparation the following morning.
Take out the cleaned and seasoned cherries from the refrigerator and let’s continue to see the steps of Acasadigery’s cherry jam. Pour them into a large pot with high sides and cook over low heat with the lid on. I recommend stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom. Be careful because as it cooks, it rises to the surface and can overflow. It happened to me, and to avoid interrupting what I was doing, I simply changed the pot.
Cook for 30 minutes and then use an immersion blender to give the jam the right consistency. Put it back on the stove for another 10 minutes, always on low heat. At this point, take the sterilized jars and pour the jam while still hot. I managed to make 3 jars of 1 cup each without filling them too much. Finally, turn them upside down until they have cooled.
The Acasadigery’s cherry jam is excellent to eat at breakfast or snack on bread. It’s so good you could eat it by the spoonful!
