Chocolate salami is a dessert made with chocolate and dry biscuits, whose shape resembles salami. It’s tasty and easy to make. Perfect for an after-meal treat or a snack.
If you want, you can also make it without eggs in the Eggless chocolate salami with walnuts version.
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 7 oz Dry biscuits
- 3.5 oz Sugar
- 5.3 oz Dark chocolate
- 2 Eggs
- to taste Powdered sugar
Preparation
Crumble the biscuits, leaving some larger pieces. You don’t need to use a blender; you can simply put them in a food bag and crush them.
In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and let it cool slightly.
At this point, combine the chocolate with the eggs, mix well, and add the biscuits. Pour the mixture onto plastic wrap and shape it into a cylinder. Let it rest in the freezer for a couple of hours (or in the refrigerator overnight). Finally, roll it in powdered sugar to give the classic salami mold effect.
Very simple to prepare and really delicious! In addition to powdered sugar, you can use elastic netting to make it look even more like a salami!
Do you want to try the recipe for my fake chocolate salami? It is one of those recipes born from a mistake. I had used some biscuits that crumbled too much, so I came up with something to recover what I had done.
