Citrus and spice chicken skewers that you can cook in the pan, on the grill, or in the oven. A delicious and aromatic main course, perfect for a light and flavorful meal but also for upcoming Easter barbecues.
This recipe combines the fresh taste of citrus with a bouquet of spices that in India are called masala and that we call curry.
In this recipe, I decided to personally prepare the spices to use, but if you don’t have time or inclination, you can simply use the curry you find in the supermarket.
To prepare this recipe, I used chicken thighs; this part of the chicken is very versatile in cooking because it can be grilled, baked, and pan-fried, remaining tender and not dry.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s prepare these citrus and spice chicken skewers together.
Oh wow, how delicious!

Steps to Prepare Citrus and Spice Chicken Skewers
Citrus and spice chicken skewers, which you can cook in the pan, in the oven, or on the grill.
To prepare the citrus and spice chicken skewers, first debone the chicken thighs and cut them into 1.25-inch pieces.
Juice half a lemon and half an orange and marinate the chicken for about 10 minutes.
In the meantime, prepare the curry in a small bowl, add a tablespoon of yogurt, and mix.
Finally, brush this “curry cream” over the drained chicken pieces.
Assemble the skewers by alternating chicken pieces, orange slices, and lemon slices, then add salt.
Brown the skewers for two minutes on each side in a lightly oiled pan, add a bit of water, and finish cooking for about 15-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken pieces.
Serve hot with the side dish of your choice.
