Air Fryer Puff Pastry Bundles

The Air Fryer Puff Pastry Bundles are delicious and perfect for an aperitif, a buffet, or as an appetizer to bring to your holiday tables. I thought of filling them with sun-dried tomatoes, pitted olives, cooked ham, and cheese, but they can also be made with grilled vegetables or smoked salmon and spreadable cheese.

The Air Fryer Puff Pastry Bundles are quick to prepare: just cut the ready-made rectangular puff pastry from the supermarket into strips, fill it, roll it up, and you’re done. I have several puff pastry recipes, I find them delicious and you can really make so many tasty little recipes, from sweet Puff Pastry Rings with figs, walnut crumble, and chocolate chips to savory, like these scenic Pears in puff pastry stuffed with gorgonzola and walnuts.

Air Fryer Puff Pastry Bundles
  • Cost: Very economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 8 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 4 sun-dried tomatoes in oil
  • 1.1 oz pitted olives (taggiasca type)
  • 8 sticks soft table cheese
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • as needed milk
  • as needed poppy seeds

Tools

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Pastry Cutter
  • 1 Brush silicone

Steps

  • Start by preparing the filling by roughly chopping the sun-dried tomatoes

  • Do the same for the olives. I used seasoned olives, taggiasca are perfect, but black pitted olives work as well, which you can also buy sliced. Combine them in a bowl to then insert into the pastry.

  • Now unroll the pastry and cut it, with the cutter, into 8 strips of roughly the same width. If you don’t have a fluted cutter, a straight one will do just fine

  • At the base of each pastry strip, place a nice piece of cooked ham, the tomatoes with the olives, and a stick of cheese

  • Roll up the pastry, pressing slightly to make it adhere well, and proceed in sequence until all the strips are finished.

  • Place them on the tray or grill of the drawer, with the closure side facing down. Brush the surface with a little milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds. You can also use sesame seeds

  • Bake at 356°F for 18 minutes or until golden on the surface

  • Serve them hot, warm, and even cold, they will always be good
