Air Fryer Puff Pastry Swirls

These Air Fryer Puff Pastry Swirls are incredibly tasty, perfect as an appetizer, aperitif, or why not, for a savory snack different from the usual. Puff pastry is suitable for many preparations, and as you know, I love it because you can play with both the shape and fillings, like for example the spectacular Puff Pastry Crown in Air Fryer or this delicious Roll with Mushrooms, Speck, Brie, and Crescenza, you have to try it!

For this version, I thought of a filling with spicy tuna, robiola, sun-dried tomatoes, and spicy provolone. You can vary the filling as you prefer and add speck or cooked ham. If you don’t have spicy tuna available, just add some chili pepper, and you’re all set. Do you want to try these Air Fryer Puff Pastry Swirls? It takes only 5 minutes to prepare and 12 minutes to cook… nice, right? Let’s get started!

At the bottom of the recipe, you will find instructions for oven cooking.

Steps

  • Start by roughly chopping the sun-dried tomatoes with a knife and in a bowl, mix the robiola with the tuna, after draining it from its oil. If you don’t have spicy tuna, you can add some powdered chili or pepper if you prefer

  • Unroll the puff pastry and spread the tuna and robiola mixture over the entire surface, using the back of a spoon

  • Add the sun-dried tomatoes and grated provolone

  • With the help of parchment paper, roll up the puff pastry from the long side, trying to tighten it as much as possible and gently seal the closure with your fingers

  • Once rolled, leave the sealed side facing down and cut it into slices of about 0.6 in

  • Transfer the swirls onto a tray or the rack of your air fryer and sprinkle with poppy seeds (optional). I decided not to brush them with egg and they still turned out great

  • Bake at 340°F for 12 minutes

  • Remove from the oven, transfer them to a plate, and serve
