American Cookies in Air Fryer

After the Fake Cookies, I couldn’t resist trying the real and original American Cookies in an Air Fryer… what a success! I searched the web, and there are really so many!! I relied on the one from American food blogger Marc Winer, who generously shared his mother’s recipe, who had been making these delicious cookies since he was very young.

I’ve read several, many with long resting times, but the thing that discouraged me a bit was a fundamental ingredient, brown sugar, the one that would give the typical consistency to these particular cookies. An ingredient not easy to find. When I read his recipe, where brown sugar wasn’t mentioned, and instead, there was cane sugar, I thought I should try it too. I didn’t want to complicate my life, nor did I want to complicate yours in searching for an ingredient that, even if substituted, gives us irresistible American Cookies… then you’ll tell me if I did well!

I baked the Cookies obviously, as you already know, in an Air Fryer, but as I always say, they can be baked in the oven as well. Given the typical round and wide shape of the cookies, I understand that using the fryer, if not particularly large, would lead you to many more batches. I had to do it too, even though mine is very spacious, because the ball shape we give to the dough will flatten out on the baking sheet during baking, which is why they should be placed well spaced apart. Having an oven fryer, I alternated the tray and air fry rack to speed things up a bit. While I was baking the first ones, I kept the others in the fridge, so they wouldn’t soften too much while waiting to be baked.

That said, it’s time to see how these American Cookies in an Air Fryer are prepared, unmistakable for their taste and typical chewy texture.
