Dark Chocolate Cake in Air Fryer

Today I share with you a perfect dessert for chocolate lovers: the Dark Chocolate Cake, cooked in an Air Fryer, simple to prepare and always impressive.

The Dark Chocolate Cake contains no flour and the butter is replaced with mascarpone, making the cake soft and literally melt in your mouth, thus a cake with an outstanding texture, ideal for a dinner with friends which you can serve plain or, if you want to really go all out, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a flavor explosion. You can decide to serve it at room temperature, but cold, it’s fantastic! So prepare it in advance, after allowing it to cool at room temperature, transfer the Dark Chocolate Cake to the refrigerator for 2-3 hours or until serving time. You can dust the surface with powdered sugar or decorate it with chocolate sprinkles and chips.

When deciding to prepare a chocolate dessert, I always recommend using good quality chocolate because it would compromise the taste of the dessert itself. If we use good quality dark chocolate, in this case, I used 55% chocolate, we will get a delicious dessert and we cannot say the recipe for the Dark Chocolate Cake is not good if the chocolate is.   • 3.2 oz 50% dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup mascarpone
  • 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2.4 tbsp milk
  • 2.5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 eggs (medium)
  • chocolate sprinkles (or powdered sugar)

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Electric Mixer
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Non-stick Pan diameter 18/20 cm

Steps

How to prepare the Dark Chocolate Cake in Air Fryer

  • Melt the chocolate using a bain-marie method, placing a little water in a saucepan, insert a bowl with chopped chocolate inside. Use a larger bowl, so the water does not touch the bottom, the chocolate should melt with the heat. Stir often

  • When the chocolate is completely melted, remove the bowl from the saucepan and set it aside

  • While the chocolate cools, whisk the eggs with the sugar until you get a light and foamy mixture

  • Add the mascarpone and blend with the mixer

  • Now add the yogurt and sifted cornstarch

  • Also add the melted chocolate

  • Continue mixing with the mixer until you get a smooth and lump-free batter

  • Pour the obtained batter into a previously greased and floured non-stick pan

  • Level the surface and preheat the air fryer at 320°F (160°C) for 2-3 minutes

  • Place the pan on the air fryer rack and bake the cake using the bake or air fry program at 320°F (160°C) for 30 minutes. Conduct a toothpick test at the end of baking; if it’s not dry, continue for a maximum of 2-3 more minutes. Do not immediately remove it but leave it with the door open for 5 minutes to avoid a sudden temperature change

  • Allow it to cool completely before removing it from the pan. Assist yourself by loosening the edges with a spatula. Once cooled at room temperature, place it in the refrigerator; I prepared it in the morning to serve in the evening, but 2-3 hours are sufficient

  • Decorate as desired with powdered sugar or with white and dark chocolate sprinkles and enjoy your Dark Chocolate Cake
