How to prepare the gratinated fennel
Start by slicing the fennel thinly
Transfer them to a bowl and add salt, pepper, thyme, breadcrumbs, grated Grana, and the two tablespoons of oil
Mix well with a spoon
Transfer them to a baking tray to place in the fryer; mine is 12×12 inches. If you have a smaller fryer, you’ll need to cook in batches
Set to 355°F and cook for 9 minutes or until they are well colored.
Cooking times may vary from fryer to fryer; it may take a few more or a few less minutes.
