Gratinated Fennel in Air Fryer

Fennel is rich in properties and is a classic side dish, both raw and cooked, of our cuisine. This version is very tasty, while remaining genuine and light, simply enriched with breadcrumbs, spices, and grated cheese, perfect to accompany our main courses both meat and fish.

The crunchy and perfect gratin of the air fryer cooking will make it one of your favorite side dishes.

Ingredients

  • 3 fennel
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Grana Padano
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste thyme (dried)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Steps

How to prepare the gratinated fennel

  • Start by slicing the fennel thinly

  • Transfer them to a bowl and add salt, pepper, thyme, breadcrumbs, grated Grana, and the two tablespoons of oil

  • Mix well with a spoon

  • Transfer them to a baking tray to place in the fryer; mine is 12×12 inches. If you have a smaller fryer, you’ll need to cook in batches

  • Set to 355°F and cook for 9 minutes or until they are well colored.

  • Cooking times may vary from fryer to fryer; it may take a few more or a few less minutes.

  • Here are the gratinated fennels ready… serve them hot!
