Pear and Chocolate Cake in Air Fryer

The Pear and Chocolate Cake, baked in an air fryer, is an elegant and delicious dessert, ideal as a dessert, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and is perfect to offer to the little ones as a snack. Fruit desserts are among the most appreciated, and the combination of pears with dark chocolate is irresistible. Preparing the Pear and Chocolate Cake in an air fryer is very simple: the pears are partly sliced and baked for 10 minutes in the fryer or oven with a sprinkle of cinnamon (these will be for decoration), and partly diced and added to the batter. I used Coscia pears, but Abate pears are more suitable; use two or three depending on the size. The chocolate is melted, along with the butter, in a double boiler and cooled before being added to the egg, sugar, and flour batter.

I had dark chocolate chips at home, so I used them, but if you have a classic bar, it’s perfect; just be sure to chop it coarsely before melting it. As I said, fruit desserts are always a great success, and one of the most requested is the classic Spoon Apple Cake, but in summer or when autumn is still warm, I can’t resist making the fresh Peach Cake with its moist, almost pudding-like consistency.

Ingredients

Ingredients for a 20 cm pan

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 7 tbsps butter
  • 3.5 oz 70% dark chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 3 pears (Coscia or Abate)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 Electric whisk
  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Baking pan
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting board

Steps

How to prepare the Pear Cake in Air Fryer

  • After washing and drying the pears, slice one, removing the core and seeds but leaving the peel. Peel and dice the other two and set them aside

  • Take a baking pan and arrange the pear slices, sprinkling with cinnamon

  • Bake in air fry at 350°F for 8 minutes

  • Remove from oven and set aside

  • Place the chocolate and butter in a bowl and set it in a pot with some water. If using a whole bar instead of chips, chop it with a knife. Make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water.

  • Gently stir with a spatula until the chocolate is completely melted. Set aside and let it cool

  • In another bowl, add the eggs with the sugar

  • Whip with the electric whisk until the mixture is light, fluffy, and frothy

  • Add the sifted flour and baking powder and continue mixing until you have a smooth batter

  • Now add the diced pears and melted chocolate to the batter. Gently fold with a spatula using upward motions

  • Butter and flour the baking pan and pour the batter, leveling it. Arrange the cinnamon-cooked pear slices in a radial pattern on top

  • Place the cake pan on the rack

  • Preheat for 2/3 minutes and bake at 320°F for 35 minutes, using the bake or air fry setting

  • If the toothpick test shows the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool before taking it out of the pan; otherwise, continue for a couple more minutes

  • Here is your Pear and Chocolate Cake ready to be enjoyed😋😋
