The savory strudel with stracchino, mortadella, and pistachio crumbles is a very tasty version of the classic rolled preparation, great for a holiday buffet, a quick dinner solution if you don’t have time to cook, or when you’re unsure of what to prepare for an aperitif. Also perfect for a savory snack. I used the air fryer for cooking, which also saves us the preheating time that the oven would require.
The savory strudel can be filled in various ways, even with vegetables, ham and mushrooms, or pumpkin and sausage. In this case, I decided to use stracchino, which pairs perfectly with mortadella and pistachio crumbles.
If you like a crunchier crust on the surface, you can cover it with sesame seeds, as I did, or poppy seeds. For this recipe, I’ve used a ready-made rectangular puff pastry, so it takes just a few minutes to prepare a tasty strudel. Besides strudels with puff pastry, you can make many things like the Savory Pie with Vegetables and Stracchino in the Air Fryer or the Creamy Potato Meatloaf in Crust. Now let’s see how to prepare this delicious savory strudel with stracchino, mortadella, and pistachio crumbles

Steps

With the help of parchment paper, roll the pastry from the long side and close into a log. Transfer the strudel to the baking tray with the seam side down and remove the parchment paper if possible, otherwise remove it halfway through cooking to allow it to cook underneath as well. Brush the surface with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds
Set the bake program to 338°F for 25 minutes or until the surface is golden
Let it cool a bit before cutting and serving
