Sea Bream in Air Fryer

With this Sea Bream in Air Fryer, you’ll bring a main course and a side dish to the table in just a few minutes. The fish doesn’t need much seasoning, just pair it with simple ingredients to enhance its full flavor.

For the Sea Bream in Air Fryer, I only used herbs that I placed inside the belly of the fish, yellow cherry tomatoes, which I love for their sweetness and they often feature in my recipes like in the Paccheri with Swordfish and Eggplant and in the Baked Plaice Fillets, but if you don’t have them at home, you can substitute them with red ones or Piccadilly tomatoes which are just as good.

If possible, have your trusted fishmonger clean the sea breams for you, making the preparation even faster. Once ready, just clean them and serve them with their cooking juices. I’m sure you’ll love them prepared this way and it only takes 10 minutes with the air fryer! If you don’t have an air fryer, you can easily cook them in the oven.

Steps

  • First, clean the fish. If your trusted fishmonger has already cleaned it, you will only need to remove the fins, scale it with a knife, and rinse it well under running water, removing any traces of blood. If you bought it to clean yourself, you will need to gut it by cutting open the belly with scissors and removing the entrails. Remove all fins, always using scissors, those on the back, belly, and sides. With a knife, remove the scales starting from the tail towards the head. Rinse it well under running water.

  • Dry it well with paper towels and insert 1 bay leaf and 2 sage leaves in the belly of each sea bream

  • Transfer the sea breams to a baking tray you will use for cooking. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and parsley. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half lengthwise and distribute them inside the tray. Roughly chop the parsley (I also keep some stems for cooking) and add it to the fish along with 2 cloves of garlic in their skins, salt, pepper, and drizzle with EVO oil

  • Put the tray in the air fryer and cook at 392°F (200°C) for 10 minutes

  • The sea breams are cooked

  • Now you can clean your sea breams by removing the skin and central bone to obtain the fillets. Serve them with the sauce that formed during cooking. Adjust salt if necessary, sprinkle with a bit of pepper, and… enjoy your meal!
