Baked Mullet with Cherry Tomatoes

The baked mullet with cherry tomatoes and herbs is a simple, light, economical but very tasty fish course. The mullet in Italy can be considered as a coastal or lagoon fish that falls into the category of poor fish. It resembles a sea bass in appearance, but it’s equally delicious, and its flesh is very tender and tasty.
Here’s this very simple recipe to bake with cherry tomatoes and herbs. Once all the ingredients are prepared, just set the oven timer, and after about half an hour, the fish is ready.

Ingredients for baked mullet with cherry tomatoes

  • 2 Mullets (fish)
  • 6 Cherry Tomatoes
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • to taste Oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Olive Oil
  • 1 sprig Parsley

  • 1 Baking Tray
  • 1 Parchment Paper
  • 1 Oven

Preparation for baked mullet with cherry tomatoes

  • To prepare the baked mullets, you need to clean the fish thoroughly, scale it and then rinse well under running water.
    Place the fish inside a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half, peel the garlic cloves, and then place everything in the tray next to the fish.
    Sprinkle with salt, oregano, drizzle with olive oil and then close the parchment paper.

  • Once wrapped in parchment paper, the fish is ready for cooking.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F (200°C) for about 25 minutes, depending on the size of the fish, check during cooking.

  • After about 30 minutes, the fish is ready to serve. Add some fresh parsley leaves, plate and serve whole, or deboned.

  • After removing the skin and bones, you can serve the fish by moistening it with the cooking juices or prepare a dressing with oil, lemon, oregano, and parsley, drizzle over the fillets, and …enjoy!
