Brownies with Toasted and Salted Peanuts are very delicious treats of American origin, many very dark squares cut from a square or rectangular cake, made from a simple batter based on dark chocolate, with a soft and tender consistency inside and a light and thin crust outside.
My version is very fragrant with the addition of orange zest and toasted and salted peanuts that give an extra touch of flavor to these delightful treats loved by both adults and children.
Brownies are perfect for breakfast, a snack, a birthday party, or a buffet as they are already portioned into squares.
If, like me, you love dark chocolate, you can’t miss this delicious recipe perfect for any occasion, prepare it along with your Christmas sweets, the children will appreciate it more than a panettone and it is ready in no time!

Preparation for Brownies with Toasted and Salted Peanuts
In a non-stick pot, melt the butter cut into pieces with the chopped or roughly grated dark chocolate over low heat for about 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool.In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar, mix well for a few minutes and add the orange juice and grated zest, continue mixing and finally add the sifted flour and baking powder.
At this point, add the cooled melted chocolate with butter, stir and mix well until you get a smooth and lump-free mixture, pour in the salted peanuts, leaving some aside, and stir again.
Pour the mixture into a rectangular baking tray lined with parchment paper measuring 8 x 11 inches, smooth well with the back of a spoon, pour the remaining peanuts on the surface, and place the tray in a preheated oven.
Bake the chocolate cake at 340°F (170°C) with a fan for about 25 minutes, or 30 minutes in a static oven.
Once the baking time is over, remove it from the oven, let it cool slightly, and then cut into small squares.
Serve the brownies plain or with powdered sugar or salted caramel. For other Christmas sweets click Collection of my Christmas sweets

Anna recommends…
You can replace the salted peanuts with other nuts of your choice such as hazelnuts, almonds, or walnuts!
You can serve and accompany the brownies with vanilla ice cream, unsweetened whipped cream, or simply with a cup of coffee.
