Ingredients for Chocolate and Nut Crunchies

  • 7 oz mixed nuts
  • 5.3 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 rum flavoring vial
  • as needed pistachio flour
  • 2.8 oz white chocolate

Tools

  • 1 Baking Tray
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Stovetop
  • 1 mixer
  • 1 Chocolate Mold
  • 1 Little Bowl
  • 12 Cupcake Liners

Preparation for Chocolate and Nut Crunchies

  • In a baking tray place all the nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews) and put them in the oven with the grill function to roast for a few minutes, stirring during cooking, until golden.
Then pour them into a food processor and roughly blend with just a few pulses at speed 3, or you can crush them with a meat mallet; they should not be finely powdered but like granules.

  • In a non-stick pan, slowly melt the dark chocolate on the stovetop, pour in the nut granules, mix the ingredients well, add the rum or vanilla flavoring depending on the taste you prefer, stir well and then pour onto a sheet of parchment paper.

  • Here you can create the shapes you like best, star or round in cupcake liners, use your hands to form balls and place them in paper liners, others place them in star-shaped silicone molds, or shape them by hand with the mold.

Once you’ve created the shapes, put them in the fridge for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate.

After the necessary time, remove them from the fridge, take out all the crunchies from the containers; if you prefer them plain, they can be served as is, otherwise for an extra touch, garnish with white chocolate and nut granules.

  • In a small glass bowl, melt the white chocolate in a double boiler or a few minutes in the microwave, dip one part of the crunchies, decorate as desired with pistachio flour, hazelnut granules or whole hazelnuts, alternately color as desired.
Let the coating cool and harden and then you can serve your crunchies.

Anna recommends…

Store the crunchies in the fridge, wrapped in plastic wrap or in a container with a lid, they will stay firm and crunchy for many days.
