Heart-Shaped Pizza with Beetroot

Ingredients for the Heart-Shaped Pizza with Beetroot

  • 2 1/2 cups Pizza Dough
  • 1 3/4 cups Mozzarella
  • 1 Beetroot
  • to taste Tomato Sauce
  • to taste Olive Oil
  • 3 1/2 oz Provola Cheese
  • to taste Arugula
  • to taste Oregano
  • 1 Heart-Shaped Mold

Preparation for the Heart-Shaped Pizza with Beetroot

  • Prepare the base dough for the pizza, for the recipe click here.
    Let the dough rise until it doubles in size, then spread it inside a heart-shaped mold, greased with oil. Spread well and lift the edge borders.
    Pour the tomato sauce with oil and oregano and spread it well, including the edge.

  • Cut the provola into strips and place it on the edge, cover and fold towards the inside, sealing the edges well.
    Using a cutter, cut out little hearts from the mozzarella slices and the cooked beetroots. Fill the heart of the pizza with mozzarella cuttings and beetroot hearts. Let it rise for another half-hour!

  • Bake the pizza in a hot oven at 482°F for about 20 minutes, first at the lower part of the oven then halfway through move to the top shelf.
    Remove the pizza from the oven, add the mozzarella hearts and the washed and dried arugula leaves, a sprinkle of oregano, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and serve hot!
