Preparation for Mixed Cookies Gift for Christmas
Pour the sifted flour into a bowl or the stand mixer bowl, then add the room temperature butter and blend until crumbly. Add the sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and orange flavor, work the dough and finally add the eggs, knead quickly.
Divide the dough, remove a part, and continue working the other by adding the sifted cocoa powder.
Wrap the doughs with plastic wrap and let them rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes.Take the dough, take a part, and roll it out directly on parchment paper, with cookie cutters cut out cookies in star, man, hearts, trees shapes, etc.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and proceed with the first bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes, adjusting to your oven’s power.
The cookies should be just golden.Continue making the other cookies, and here let your imagination run wild, make some all cocoa, or mix the doughs to form two-color cookies, as well as pinwheels.
Alternate white and chocolate by removing parts of the cookies with various cutters, placing the white part in the black cookie and the black part in the white cookie.
Bake these last cookies also at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
When they’re cooked, remove from oven and let cool.Prepare the icing: in a bowl, beat the egg white, when it starts to mount, gradually add the sifted powdered sugar while continuing to beat, also add lemon flavor or lemon juice.
Continue beating until the mixture is shiny and homogeneous and when it stands firm on the beaters, it’s ready to use.
Transfer the icing to a pastry syringe and create the decorations you prefer on the cookies, add the colored sprinkles and press them well into the icing, take inspiration from those in the photo or use your creativity.
If you’re not skilled, practice on parchment paper.
For colored decorations, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and mix well.In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and decorate other cookies, here also add sprinkles as you like.
Let the mixed cookies rest until the icing and chocolate have completely hardened.
When ready, box the cookies and prepare your gift box.For other sweets browse the Collection of My Christmas Sweets
Anna recommends…
Christmas cookies can be flavored as you like with vanilla, ginger, lemon. You can also fill them with creams and jams and dust them with powdered sugar.
Use some cookies with a ribbon to close the gift box.
Cookies absorb moisture over time and become soft; to preserve them best, store them in a tin box to keep them crisp for many days
