Steps for Puff Pastry Swirls with Raspberry and Sour Cherry Jam
Unroll the puff pastry sheet and use a pizza cutter to cut 5 strips from the longer side.
Fill each strip with raspberry jam by placing it with a teaspoon in the middle of the strip along its entire length.
Seal the edges of the strip to form a long cylinder and then roll it up like a swirl, a little snail!
Place the swirls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, brush the surface with a beaten egg, and, if desired, decorate with colored sprinkles.
Bake the swirls on the second rack in a preheated oven at 392°F (200°C) fan for about 15 minutes, then lower the temperature to 356°F (180°C) and continue baking for another 10 minutes.
When they are golden, remove from the oven and let cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and then garnish with syruped sour cherries.
Tips and Variations
You can fill the swirls with whatever you prefer, you can also make them mini-size by cutting the strips smaller.
They are also great with fresh fruit like strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries.
