Ingredients for the Swiss Chard Pie with Smoked Cheese
- 1 head Swiss chard
- 2.1 oz Mix of aromatic breadcrumbs
- 3.5 oz smoked scamorza cheese
- 2 slices cooked ham
- to taste Grana Padano PDO (grated)
- to taste salt

Preparation for the Swiss Chard Pie with Smoked Cheese
Clean the head of Swiss chard, wash the leaves well under running water, then separate the white stalks from the leaves.
Bring water to a boil, add salt, place the white part of the Swiss chard on the bottom and the more tender leaves on top.Cook for about 8-10 minutes, then drain them.
Take a baking dish, drizzle the bottom with a little olive oil, sprinkle with some mix of breadcrumbs (prepared with Grana, grated Grana, garlic salt, and chopped parsley).Lay the boiled Swiss chard mixed with stalks and leaves, drizzle with olive oil, aromatic breadcrumbs, a sprinkle of grated Grana, the smoked cheese, and the sliced ham cut into small pieces.
Cover again with Swiss chard and proceed with another layer. Complete the pie with some olive oil, a generous sprinkle of aromatic breadcrumbs, and Grana.
Cook the Swiss chard pie in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 15 minutes. If you desire a golden crust, turn on the grill for a few minutes.
Remove from the oven and let it rest before portioning and serving.You can double the servings and cook in a larger baking dish!

For an extra touch of flavor, after boiling, you can sautée the Swiss chard with olive oil and a clove of garlic.
You can substitute smoked cheese with provolone or mozzarella, according to your taste!
