Ingredients for Turkey Slices Pizzaiola Style

  • 6 slices Thick Turkey Breast
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 2 oz Prague Ham (or Speck)
  • 2 oz Provola Cheese
  • to taste Oregano

  • 15 Salted Capers
  • 1 sprig Basil
  • to taste Semolina Flour

Preparation for Turkey Slices Pizzaiola Style

  • Dust the turkey breast slices with semolina flour on both sides.
    Place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper, drizzle with a little olive oil, and then bake.
    Cook the slices for about 10 minutes in a static oven at 392°F.
    If you prefer, you can also fry them in a pan with oil or butter.

  • Meanwhile, pour the tomato sauce into a small pan, add salt, some oil, a bit of oregano, and the rinsed capers, bring to temperature, and cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat until slightly reduced.

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven, leave the oven on, place the seasoned tomato sauce on each slice, and return the sheet to the oven to cook for another 2-3 minutes, still at 392°F.
    Cut provola and cooked ham into pieces, place them on the slices, and continue cooking.
    Turn on the oven grill to brown the slices and melt the provola for about 4-5 minutes.
    Take them out when they appear well cooked and golden, and serve hot.

You can also replace the turkey breast slices with other meats like chicken or beef, and provola can be replaced with other cheeses like scamorza or mozzarella according to your taste.
