Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 14 tablespoons all-purpose flour (about 9 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons corn oil
  • 4 tablespoons limoncello (or liquor of choice, or milk)
  • zest of one orange, grated (untreated)
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 1 vanillin
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large apple
  • as needed peanut oil
  • as needed powdered sugar

Tools

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Hand Whisk
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Frying Pan

Steps

  • Break the eggs into a large bowl, add the vanilla, and beat with a whisk.

Also add the sugar and beat them quickly with a whisk.

Add the flour and mix just a bit more.

Add the liquor and oil and continue beating with the whisk.

Remove the whisk and continue to mix using a spatula, you need to obtain a smooth, homogeneous, and compact batter, but soft, it should be easy to scoop with a spoon, the right consistency is shown in the video, if you need more flour or liquor, add it depending on the size of the eggs.

Add the pinch of salt and sifted baking powder, mix well.

Add the grated orange zest and mix again.

Peel the apple, remove the core, and chop into small cubes.

Add the apple to the batter and mix with the spatula.

At this point, the batter is ready.

  • Heat plenty of oil in a high-sided pan (better if with a thick bottom), as soon as the oil is hot at 338°F (if you don’t have a thermometer, just dip a small piece of batter into the oil, the oil is ready when bubbles form immediately), lower the flame to minimum (so the fritters cook on the inside too) and with the help of 2 spoons, drop small pieces of batter into the oil (about the size of an olive, they will puff up during cooking), cook the apple fritters a few at a time to not lower the oil’s temperature too much and make them golden on both sides.

As soon as the spoon apple fritters are golden, remove them from the oil with a slotted frying spoon and place them in powdered sugar, roll them in the sugar while frying more fritters at the same time.

Continue in the same way until all the batter is used up.

  • Once they are ready and you have rolled them in sugar, place them on a platter and serve.

The freshly fried apple fritters will be extremely fluffy and very delicious.

  • Break the eggs into the bowl, add the sugar and a pinch of salt 30 sec.speed 3.

Add the liquor, grated orange zest, and oil 30 secspeed 3.

Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the bowl 30 secspeed 3.

Spatula the batter from the sides to the center and work another 20 secspeed 3.

Turn off the Bimby and transfer the batter to a bowl.

Peel the apple, remove the core, and chop into small cubes.
Add the apple to the batter and mix with the spatula.

At this point, the batter is ready.
