Ingredients
- 1 package ladyfingers
- 1 3/4 cups fresh whipping cream (unsweetened from the refrigerated section)
- 2 1/4 cups mascarpone
- 1/2 cup sugar (3/4 cup for a sweeter version)
- 10 1/2 oz strawberries
- 1 tbsp sugar (for the strawberries)
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- to taste limoncello
- 7 oz strawberries
- 2 sprigs mint
- to taste chocolate stars (optional)
Tools
- 1 Electric Whisk
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Baking Dish
- 1 Small Pan
Steps
Gently wash the strawberries, then remove the stems and cut them into small cubes, placing them in a bowl.
Once all the strawberries for the filling are diced, add a heaped tablespoon of sugar and mix well, set them aside.
Using a spatula, mix the mascarpone with the sugar until you get a cream.
Using an electric whisk or in a stand mixer, start whipping the cream. Once it is semi-whipped, add the prepared mascarpone and continue to whip until you get a nice creamy and smooth mixture.
At this point, the mascarpone cream is ready. Taste it to see if the sweetness suits your preference (I like to taste the flavor of the mascarpone and the less sweetened fresh cream), otherwise add a little more sugar, then store it in the fridge until needed.
Prepare the syrup:
Put the water with the sugar in a small pan and place it over heat. As soon as it reaches a boil, turn off the heat, stir well to dissolve all the sugar, and let it cool slightly.
Then add limoncello to taste (add a little at a time and taste until you like the flavor), for even more flavor you can also add the juice from the strawberries you set aside to marinate.
Let’s prepare the strawberry tiramisu:
In a 12×10 inch baking dish, make a first layer of ladyfingers dipped quickly in the syrup, cover with an even layer of mascarpone cream, half of the diced strawberries scattered here and there.
Proceed in layers by covering the cream with dipped ladyfingers, then again with the mascarpone cream and strawberries.
Again the dipped ladyfingers, complete with the remaining mascarpone cream.
Place the tiramisu in the fridge.
Rinse the strawberries for decoration and cut them into wedges, simply cut them in half and then in half again (alternatively, you can make larger cubes).
Rinse the mint and separate the leaves.
Take the tiramisu back and decorate it with the strawberries, mint, and chocolate decorations (you can choose not to add them).
Put in the fridge for at least another hour, or for 30 minutes in the freezer.
The strawberry tiramisu dessert is ready to be enjoyed… Enjoy your dessert!
