Ingredients for Cauliflower and Sausage Gratin
- 1 cauliflower
- 4 sausages
- 1 onion (small)
- 7 oz tomato sauce
- 7 oz cheese (Asiago or Latteria)
- 4 pinches salt
- 2 pinches black pepper
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsps breadcrumbs
Preparation of Cauliflower and Sausage Gratin
Prepare the cauliflower and sausage gratin starting with the cauliflower, so separate the florets and divide the large ones into 2 or 3 parts.
Blanch the cauliflower florets for 4 or 5 minutes, drain, and set aside.
Chop the onion finely and let it soften in a pan with the olive oil.
Remove the casing from the sausages and crumble them into the pan with the onion.
Brown everything well and add the tomato sauce.
Salt and pepper and cook for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 392°F in static mode and cut the cheese into pieces.
When the sausages are cooked and the sauce is reduced, mix the cauliflower florets with the sausages.
Spread half of the cauliflower and sausage mixture in a baking dish, cover with half of the cut-up cheese.
Finish with the rest of the sausages and cauliflower and the remaining cheese on top.
Add a drizzle of oil and some breadcrumbs and bake.
Bake the gratin in the middle rack of the oven for 15/20 minutes or until golden on top.
