Easy Chocolate Cream Recipe

The easy chocolate cream recipe is a great dessert by the spoon. I often use it to fill my fondant cakes. It’s really delightful and serves as the ideal base for many creams. Add crumbled cookies, wafers, hazelnut granules, pistachios, almonds; the base will always be the cream, but your desserts will change flavor every time.

I guarantee that once you try it, you’ll never leave it!

In pastry, it’s called chocolate ganache. It’s also made with milk chocolate and even white chocolate, although the cream proportion varies. This is the base recipe to start many recipes.

  • 7 oz dark chocolate (60-69%)
  • 1 3/4 cups fresh liquid cream
  • 1 tbsp butter

Preparation of Easy Chocolate Cream

With my amounts, you’ll get an easy chocolate cream to eat by the spoon. If you want to fill a cake, you need to slightly increase the amount of chocolate; otherwise, it turns out too soft. On the contrary, if you use milk or white chocolate, you should use the same amount of cream as chocolate to get an excellent result by the spoon.

  • Start by finely chopping the dark chocolate, set aside.

  • In a small saucepan, bring the fresh liquid cream to a boil. Once it shows the first bubbles at the edges of the saucepan, turn off the heat, add the butter and the chopped dark chocolate you set aside.

  • Stir well to melt all the chocolate with a wooden spatula, then let it reach room temperature. Place it in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  • Take it out of the fridge, whip your cream with the electric whisk until you have a very creamy but still soft consistency, not stiff peaks. If you take a spoonful and turn it over, it shouldn’t fall; adjust to taste, as this depends on personal preference.

  • Arrange the cream in cups, glasses, decorate if you like with cookies, granules, or serve simply like this; it will be much appreciated by everyone. If it seems too compact, leave it out of the fridge for 10 minutes before serving, and…

Storage, Tips, and Variations

The cream can be stored in the fridge, closed in a container, for 4 or 5 days.

You can freeze the cream and let it thaw in the fridge before use. The cream 🍫 is excellent for filling or decorating cakes; it doesn’t need to be whipped too much for decorating since dark chocolate is naturally firm.

Try adding walnut, hazelnut, or almond granules for a fancy dessert in a glass, or crumbled cookies, chocolate cream, and dried fruit for a deconstructed cheesecake in a glass.
