Preparation of Skillet Naan Bread
To prepare skillet naan bread, first, place the flour in a large bowl, and add the dry yeast.
Then add the yogurt and water and start mixing first with a spoon, add the salt, and mix with your hands.
Turn the mixture onto the work surface, form a smooth and homogeneous ball, place it back in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
After the resting time, take the dough for the yogurt naan and divide it into 8 parts using a dough scraper or a knife.
Form balls, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 2 hours, then use a rolling pin to roll each ball into a round shape.
Each disc should be about 5 inches.
Heat a non-stick pan very well and cook the Indian naan bread recipe for 4 minutes on one side with the pan covered.
You’ll see bubbles forming on the surface, remove the lid, flip the yogurt Indian bread with a quick motion, and cook the other side without a lid for another 2 or 3 minutes.
If you want to serve it stuffed, you can drizzle it with extra virgin olive oil and some chopped chives.
Otherwise, let it cool and bring it to the table to accompany your creamy dishes.
