Tools
- 1 Cast Iron Skillet
- 1 cookie cutter
Preparation
Preparing the spider tartines for Halloween is really a piece of cake.
First, cut the slices of white sandwich bread with a 2-inch (5 cm) diameter round cookie cutter.
You can also use a glass or any round object capable of cutting the sandwich bread.
Then, in a bowl, season the tomato sauce with salt and oregano and mix to flavor.
Set aside.
Now heat a cast iron grill pan very well, the kind with ridges, and grill the tartines for a few minutes on each side.
They should be just toasted.
Once all the tartines are grilled, top each tartine with a tablespoon of tomato sauce.
Now you can focus on the spiders, take a pitted black olive and cut it in half lengthwise, place half an olive on each tartine.
With the other half of the olive, make both the head and the legs by slicing each half olive into thin slices for the legs and use the leftover for the head.
Place both the legs and the head on the spider tartines for Halloween and arrange them on a tray to bring to the table when it’s time to eat them and…

Tips
It’s better to prepare the spider tartines for Halloween only a few hours before serving; otherwise, the bread becomes soggy and no longer crunchy.
