Ingredients for Super Tender Chicken Slices

  • 2 chicken breasts (skinless)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Super Tender Chicken Slices

  • To prepare the Super Tender Chicken Slices, first remove the bone if present in the chicken breasts, then pat them dry with kitchen paper.

    Never ever wash chicken, did you know that? Wondering why? You might spread campylobacter in the kitchen.

  • In a large bowl that can contain the chicken breasts without overlapping, mix all the spices with the soy sauce and extra virgin olive oil.

  • Place the chicken breasts and with the help of your hands, massage them with the marinade, cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

    No more is needed, indeed 1 hour is more than enough to infuse it well.

  • After the resting time, take the chicken breasts and dry them from the marinade with kitchen paper.

  • Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle very well and sear the chicken breasts on all sides over high heat.

  • Cover with a lid, lower the heat, and cook the Super Tender Chicken Slices for 5 minutes.

  • Then remove the lid, turn the chicken, and on raising the heat, cook for another 7-8 minutes.

    The cooking time depends on how large the chicken breasts are; in my case, they were small, so the time was sufficient.

  • If your chicken is larger, extend the cooking covered and at low heat by another 4 or 5 minutes.

  • Let the Chicken Slices rest for a couple of minutes before serving them sliced on a bed of well-dressed green salad or arugula.
