Upside-Down Apple Tartlets Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 tablespoon pine nuts
- 2 tablespoons honey
Tools
- 1 Apple Corer
- 1 Round Cutter 3 inches round
- 1 Baking Tray oven
- Parchment Paper
- 1 Mandoline
Preparation of Upside-Down Apple Tartlets
To prepare the Upside-Down Apple Tartlets, first wash and dry the apple, then remove the core using an apple corer.
Then slice the apple into thin slices, possibly with the help of a mandoline.
Preheat the oven to 350°F in static mode and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut out discs slightly larger than the apple slices using a round cutter or a glass.
Drop spoonfuls of honey onto the parchment paper, spaced according to the size of the apples.
Distribute pine nuts over the honey, then 2 overlapping apple slices, sprinkle with cinnamon powder if desired, and cover with the puff pastry discs.
Gently press all around the apple slices so the puff pastry adheres to the parchment paper, then bake.
Bake the upside-down apple puffs on the middle shelf of the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the surface is lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before flipping each apple tartlet, sprinkle with powdered sugar if you like, or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
