Recipe: Pumpkin and Smoked Cheese Mini Flans

  • Wash thoroughly and finely chop a bunch of assorted aromatic herbs (rosemary, sage, basil, marjoram, etc.) with a mezzaluna.

  • For these mini flans, the long pumpkin is suitable so that full discs can be cut from the upper part. After washing the pumpkin well, cut slices about half a centimeter thick from the upper part (you can leave the skin).

Storage and Tips

Storage: I recommend consuming the pumpkin mini flans immediately after baking. In any case, you can store them in the fridge for 1-2 days and reheat them before enjoying them again.
Tips: I suggest using a round ceramic mold, making it easier to assemble in a single-portion serving.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Can I use a different variety of pumpkin?

Of course, just keep in mind that not all pumpkins will allow you to cut discs, in which case you can always cut irregular pieces and proceed with the assembly as per the recipe.

  • What can I substitute for smoked cheese?

Instead of smoked cheese, you can use provolone.

  • Can I make this recipe in a single baking dish?

Absolutely, you can replace the ramekins with a single baking dish, just be sure to choose the right size to fit all the ingredients.
