Simple and quick: scrambled frittata with Swiss chard in a pan fresh or frozen, a recipe made with scrambled eggs together with Swiss chard that you can also make with other vegetables such as spinach, greens, and turnips. Not the usual frittata! Even though the ingredients are the same, in this recipe everything is mixed in a pan with a ladle.
How to make the perfect frittata in a pan? Well, this time you don’t have to ask that question and you don’t need much cooking experience because in today’s recipe everything is scrambled together, eggs, and Swiss chard, easily and without having to flip the frittata.
It won’t have the shape of the classic frittata like the potato carbonara, but the substance, taste, and ingredients used are the same, indeed I will tell you that in my house my husband prefers the frittata made with Swiss chard over other vegetables, seasoned with a few drops of lemon it becomes really appetizing.

- 28 oz Swiss chard (fresh or frozen)
- 5 eggs
- 2.1 oz grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- lemon juice
Tools
- Pan
- Mezzaluna
Recipe
Carefully clean the leaves, removing any damaged or yellowed ones, then cut off the toughest part of the stem and wash them well to remove any impurities.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, and when it starts boiling, add the Swiss chard, cooking it for about 15 minutes or until well cooked.
Drain them, let them cool, and squeeze them well with both hands to remove excess water. How to cook frozen Swiss chard: If you’re using frozen chard, just add them directly to the pot of boiling salted water, and once it starts boiling, let the vegetables cook for 10 minutes, then proceed as indicated above.
Chop the boiled Swiss chard with a mezzaluna.
Beat the eggs vigorously, add the grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
In a non-stick pan, brown the oil with the garlic clove, add the chopped Swiss chard, and season for a few minutes.
Pour the beaten eggs over the chard and as soon as they start to set, scramble everything quickly with a wooden spoon so it doesn’t take the shape of a frittata.
Before serving, squeeze the juice of a lemon.
Your scrambled frittata is ready, Swiss chard and eggs together in a pan for a tasty and wholesome main course. A different way to present this recipe at the table without the need to flip the frittata!
Storage and Tips
Storage: The scrambled Swiss chard frittata can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days in an airtight container. Since it doesn’t have the classic frittata shape, it’s easier to store in containers.
Tips: You can make this recipe with spinach, greens, turnips, and similar.
The amount of eggs used can be increased based on your preferences.
The lemon juice can be omitted, but I assure you it adds a lot of extra flavor.
