PEAR AND BRIE PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 3.5 oz brie
  • 0.9 oz hazelnuts
  • 0.7 oz acacia honey
  • 6 oz Kaiser pear (1 pear)

  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Fork
  • 1 Spoon

Preparation of Pear and Brie Puff Pastry

  • First, take the puff pastry out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature.

    Now wash a pear well, then proceed to slice it into fairly thin slices, no more than 1/8 inch.

  • Unroll the puff pastry and fold the edges over themselves to form a sort of frame about 3/8 inch.

    Then prick the surface with a fork so it won’t puff up during cooking.

  • Place the pear slices on the puff pastry, covering the entire surface.

  • Cut the brie into pieces as well and randomly place them on the pears.

  • Lastly, coarsely chop the hazelnuts and sprinkle them over the brie and pears.

    Bake everything in a preheated oven at 355°F for 20/22 minutes or until the pastry is cooked and nicely golden.

    Once cooked, let it rest out of the oven for a couple of minutes before serving.

  • After a couple of minutes, finish the puff pastry with honey drizzled with a spoon.

    And voilà… the pear and brie puff pastry is ready to be served to your guests.

Useful Tips

If you don’t like acacia honey, you can replace it with wildflower honey or any mild honey, and instead of hazelnuts, you can use walnuts.
